A wildlife-friendly front garden, a post-pandemic working from home back garden, and a garden dedicated to those suffering from long Covid were among the winners at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park 2022. 10 medals were awarded in the Gardens category at RHS Tatton, with designs providing visitors with plenty of practical, take-home ideas. David, from Leyland, was delighted to see his design for an eco friendly garden, which includes space for relaxing and a spot of yoga, created as a show garden at this week’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. Women play big role in garden design for Philadelphia Flower Show 2022
More women than ever before are designing major exhibits for the 2022 Philadelphia Flower Show, set for June 11 to 19. The nationally recognized annual event will be held outdoors for the second year in a row. Of the 40 major exhibitors planned for this year’s “In Full Bloom Show” at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park (FDR) in South Philadelphia, 13 are women-owned businesses. And women are lead designers for at least six others, which means women are designing nearly half the show this year. There also are seven major exhibitors from New Jersey. First-time designers Lulu Urquhart and Adam Hunt are bringing their A Rewilding Britain Landscape Show Garden to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022. They will use native British plants to showcase a naturally rewilded landscape, designed to inspire all those with an interest in eco-forward gardening. The reintroduction of beavers in South West England – a mammal once lost to the British landscape and now being reintroduced after 400 years of extinction – is their inspiration.
