A Perry Township business wants to make sure local residents in need have Christmas ornaments, wreaths and related items to make their homes look festive next year.
The Painted Plank is sponsoring a Christmas Decoration Donation Drive that’s taking place through Jan. 11. Lauren Kowalewski, owner of The Painted Plank, said the event is intended to collect new and gently used yuletide decorations to be distributed in November and December of 2021.
“We know there are families struggling and unable to provide the extras they wish they could,” Kowalewski said. “Our goal is to provide these families with Christmas decor, so they too can experience the joy of Christmas with their children throughout the holiday season.”
Kowalewski is seeking contributions of items such as artificial Christmas trees of any size; wreaths; ornaments; lights; stockings; and Christmas books and crafts.
“Please be sure items are in good, clean and working condition,” she said.
Kowalewski also invites businesses that typically mark down Christmas decorations for deep discounts after Dec. 25 to consider contributing some of these items to The Painted Plank’s drive. In addition, Kowalewski is hoping to find businesses or residents that can offer indoor space to store the donated Christmas items until late next year.
Donations can be dropped off through Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 3261 Call Road in Perry Township. Anyone who has questions about the event or wants to arrange for items to be picked up can contact The Painted Plank at 440-463-3830 or [email protected].
The Painted Plank repaints kitchen and bath cabinets, the interior of recreational vehicles, and other surfaces that include plastic, metal, plastic, glass and concrete.
