Edwins Restaurant launches virtual cooking classes

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The team at Edwins Restaurant is launching Vivant @ Home, a virtual cooking class series beginning tonight.

The goal of the class is to alleviate frustration for anyone who feels overwhelmed in the kitchen or who doesn’t think they have time to prepare a nutritious meal. It also will aim to offer family- or date-night dinner inspiration.

Brandon Chrostowski will guide cooks with step-by-step instructions and tips of the trade (all hour-long classes begin at 6 p.m. unless noted):

Wednesday, Jan. 6: Meringue 101

Tuesday, Jan. 12: Braising basics

Friday Jan. 15: Martini, Manhattan, Margarita

2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16: Cake decoration

Wednesday, Jan. 20: Smoking

Monday, Jan. 25: Roasting basics

Friday, Jan. 29: Cabernet Sauvignon 101

Cost is $20. Participants receive access to the class via private Zoom link, shopping list, recipe and preparation tips; pre-packaged ingredient kits also are available for pickup (costs range from $50 to $80). Pickup is at Edwins Butcher Shop beginning at 10 a.m. the day before the event. The shop is at 13024 Buckeye Road, Cleveland.

Sign up online or call 216-921-3333.

Chrostowski explains what to expect from the class in a video.

Also, Edwins is holding cooking classes for school-age kids at 11:30 a.m. Saturdays. Some adult supervision is required. Cost is $10 for the link, and take-home kits, which feed four, are $25. Pickup is at the butcher shop the day before class.
