In sad news to report, the decision has been made to cancel the Chaffee Home & Garden Show for 2021, and bring it back bigger and better in 2022.
“For years the Chaffee Home & Garden Show has been a much-anticipated kickoff to spring, bringing together businesses and consumers to beautify local landscapes and homes,” read the statement about their decision. “Unfortunately, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event’s host, Salida Sunrise Rotary, has had to cancel the 2021 Chaffee Home & Garden Show.”

The local favorite event has traditionally been held at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds, attracting thousands anxious for some springtime, even if only indoors. In fact, the community joke has been that the weekend of the Home & Garden show there has usually been a snowstorm, reminding everyone that they can’t wait for spring.
The Salida Sunrise Rotary said that their decision has been made “With respect for keeping our community as healthy as possible, following CDC and local public health guidelines, and ongoing use of the Chaffee County Fairgrounds for vaccine distribution.”
But in making the announcement, the Salida Sunrise Rotary has set the date for next year’s Chaffee Home & Garden Show; April 2 and 3, 2022.
In the meantime, readers can stay up-to-date on vendors and next year’s Home & Garden Show, by visiting the home and garden website, www.ChaffeeHomeandGarden.com, or by following the Chaffee Home & Garden Show Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Chaffee-Home-and-Garden-Show-112522710190638 .
In prior years, the Chaffee Home & Garden Show raises more than $30,000 for the Salida Sunrise Rotary Charitable Fund, which returns the funds to the community through student scholarships and grants to nonprofits.
This year, even without the stroll through the flowers, the garden equipment, and the garden tractor displays, think virtually. The Salida Sunrise Rotary still needs our help to fund the charitable fund supporting the scholarships and grants.
