City employee admits taking holiday decor from citizen

Copyright © 2022 Albuquerque Journal A city employee tasked with delivering turkey pot pies to homebound seniors has apparently also used a government vehicle to deliver ill-gotten Christmas decor to their own home. The Senior Affairs Department worker who admitted to taking a resident’s Christmas decorations while on their route in December is facing a formal disciplinary hearing, according to a newly released report from the city’s Office of Inspector General. The employee, who acknowledged nabbing the festive doodads after the owner called the city to report the incident, “took something that belonged to someone else and this was witnessed by citizens. Home design ideas: A case where removing windows made for a better bathroom

To make way for double vanities and a walk-in shower in this bath, the designer removed a whirlpool tub and made the window smaller.Tamara Flanagan Desiree Burns’ clients, a young family that relocated to Dover from the city, had no need for the bulky whirlpool tub in the primary bath. They did, however, want a walk-in shower and double vanities, not to mention a crisp, clean feel. Simply removing the tub wouldn’t be enough; to make room for two vanities, Burns had to contend with the room’s giant Palladian window. By getting rid of the window’s two side components, and highlighting the central arched portion with a bench beneath it,…

‘Home price appreciation will normalize.’ What 5 economists and real estate pros predict will happen to home prices in 2022

How much will home prices go up in 2022? Getty Images/iStockphoto In 2021, home prices skyrocketed nearly 19%, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller home price index. And pros say we’re in for another year of price growth — but as for how much, pros diverge.  Some predict double digit growth. Indeed, a report in January from Zillow noted that home values were expected to grow 16.4% between December 2021 and December 2022; Goldman Sachs, in October, forecast that home prices would rise 16% through 2022. Fannie Mae says home prices will climb 11.2% throughout this year, followed by a more modest increase in 2023. Others have more modest predictions:…
