A Three-Bedroom Bayfront Home in Southern Ireland $1.3 MILLION (1.35 MILLION EUROS) This three-bedroom ranch house, known as the Courtyard, sits on a 0.78-acre lot overlooking Bantry Bay, a long inlet on the southwest coast of Ireland. The roughly 3,500-square-foot house, built about 25 years ago, is one of a handful of homes off a narrow wooded lane near Glengarriff, a village of 250 residents in County Cork, about 215 miles southwest of Dublin. Home improvement companies could see increased sales after Hurricane Ian, Wells Fargo says
Hurricane Ian is barreling toward Florida after strengthening to a Category 4 storm, and analysts are forecasting billions of dollars in damages. Fadem pointed specifically to Home Depot , Lowe’s , O’Reilly Automotive and Floor & Decor…

How Designers Are Using Fluting
Nathan Schroeder We can’t stop thinking of fluting lately—and no, it’s not because of Lizzo’s showstopping performance last night. The instrument is nice and all, but what’s really captured our interest is the decorative detail: a surface that has been grooved to create repeating scallop-shaped ridges. Over the past few years, fluting has been most common on dresser fronts and tables (and even spawned quite a few DIY tutorials), but lately we’re seeing it used in far more creative applications. At the annual Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in Dallas last week, the motif popped up on everything from millwork to upholstery to natural stone—and we loved each iteration more than…

Tour a “Luxury Funhouse” in Laguna Beach, California
AD100 interior designer Michelle Nussbaumer’s more-is-more approach to decoration feels either inspired by the Pacific Ocean’s magnitude or like a brazen attempt to be the equal of the irrepressible view at this cliff-hugging vacation home in Laguna Beach. “This house is really something very different for the family,” says Nussbaumer, who has worked on the multigenerational family’s other properties for almost two decades. “[They] raised [their] kids in more traditional homes, and now that there are grandchildren around, it’s the era of the luxury fun house.” Fashioning a funky and fearless tableau requires a vast imagination, a key characteristic of natural-born maximalist Nussbaumer. For instance, the designer spared nary an…

Febreze Partners With Garcelle Beauvais to Design Homes Through Scent Styling
When we decorate our homes, we think of colors and textures first, but we may be missing out on another key sense: Scents can seriously elevate the design of your home. According to Garcelle Beauvais, “scent styling” is the missing layer to your perfectly curated room. The actress, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, and design lover partnered with Febreze Air to spill the secret to sharpening your eye and training your nose through scents. “Home cohesion doesn’t stop with the eyes,” she says. “With Scent Styling, you’ll love what you see and smell throughout your home.” Finding the scent that complements your home and personality helps build memories your…
